Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-09-09
BarStar operates photo booths in bars and venues. This policy describes what the booth collects, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
BarStar is the trade name of OutcomeForge, a sole proprietorship operated by Don Holm.
What we collect
Your photos. Taken by the booth when you start a session.
Your mobile phone number or email address — only if you give it. You type it on the booth's screen to have your photos sent to you. Scanning the QR code instead means we never receive either.
Your text-message consent. If you ask for a text, the booth records that you ticked the consent box, the number you entered, and the time.
Session details. Which booth, and when. A paid session is processed by our payment provider; we never see your card number.
We do not ask for your name, and the booth has no account to create.
How we use it
Your photos are uploaded to a private link. Your phone number or email address is used once, to send you that link, and for nothing else. Your consent record is kept so we can show that a message was sent only because you asked for it. We do not sell, rent or share your phone number or email address with anyone, and we do not use either for marketing.
Mobile information and text-message consent
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile number and your text-message opt-in are used solely to send the single message you requested.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Service providers
To deliver what you asked for we use a messaging carrier to send the text, an email provider to send the email, a storage provider to host your photo link, and a payment provider for paid sessions. Each processes only what it needs to provide that service to us, on our instructions, and none may use it for its own purposes, including marketing. We do not otherwise disclose your information unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Photo links expire automatically after 7 days, after which the photos are deleted. The booth destroys its own copy of your session as soon as the session ends. Contact details are used for the single message and are not retained as a mailing list; the consent record is kept only as long as we need to demonstrate the message was requested.
Sharing your photos on other booths
The booth may ask whether you are happy for your photos to be shown on other BarStar booths, credited to the venue where they were taken. This is entirely optional and off unless you choose it: declining is the default and stores nothing. If you do agree, you choose how long it lasts, and choosing "No thanks" during your session removes them.
Your choices
Reply STOP to any text from us to opt out of further messages, or
HELP for help. To ask about, or ask us to delete, anything the booth
holds about you, email [email protected] or
speak to the venue where you used the booth.
Children
Our booths operate in bars and licensed venues and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
